hi, im a forty one year old mother of two and ive had crohns for over twenty years. ive just had a stay in hospital because it was thought i had a blcokage. after having a c.t scan its been found that my duodenum is scared the all the way along it and now ive been put on the elemental 028 diet for the rest of my life! i had had short spells on it in the past but now its for ever. in time i will be able to have soups and other liquids but never any solid food.
is there any out there who is like me and only on liquids for life, would love to here from anyone.
im not gonna let it run my life but for now its just how to get use to this way of life.

Hello, I've done the same thing too and found it to be really good. I used Ensure Plus as well as Modulen at some stages and its great for giving everything a rest, I've had no pain or symptoms at all since I've been on it. I didnt know you could add Crusha to it i will be trying that next time, I was having plain Modulen which tastes like baby forumla apparently! Its nice becuase its a little lighter on the stomach than the Ensure Plus. Problem with me is when I eat food again all my symptoms return. I'm supposed to be starting azathioprine next week and I know if i continued on this diet I would stay well but I've been on and off with it for a few years now and I miss food too much! Glad its going so well for you x
