Hi Everyone,

Back in December, both my Sons' schools had cases of swine flu, so I kept them both home for the last 3 days of term, to minimise the risk to Callum.

Now my youngest Son's junior school have sent another letter home, saying that they have a case. I can't keep James home now, its the start of a new term, but what do I do, Callum starts immunosupressants next week, so he is at higher risk.

I am vigilant at cleaning at home as it is, everything gets sprayed with disinfectant.

Anyone offer me any advice, especially those with other Crohns children, thanks.

Lynn

Yikes!  My dtr and son & their families (total .  4 of them have H1N1 virus now.  2 got by fairly well, but it lasted over a week.  The 2 teen boys came down with fever and sore throat and was immediately given the Tamaflu to counteract it.  They are doing very well and should be gone within 5 days.

The H1N1 is spread by contact, sneezing, coughing etc.

The doctors advised that unless the remainder of the kids have a fever and sore throat, they are OK for regular activities, including school.

Hi Lynn,

Not been on for a while, hope you're ok. Ben is on Azathiprine and has been for about 18months now. I don't treat him any differently. I can honestly say that since starting on the immuno suppressants, he has had less infections/ colds etc. I know that I shouldn't be complacent, and I keep a close eye if I know he has been in contact with someone with an infection, but I try not to worry too much.

Hope this helps,

Mary, x.
