hi everyone im new to all this, im 25 and ive had crohns for the past 7/8 years now and it affects my rectum and colon, ive had previous anal abcesses, a seton in place, fistulas and finally last year had a colostomy op, since then my colon has been flared up all the time. My consultant has tried me on ifliximab - which worked for a while but then i had a bad reaction to this....then Humira - that didnt work.....now its Methatraxate - starting on this next week ( 1 injection eery week ) so im hoping this works as its the last resort. on and ive just stopped taking mercaptopurine. Im also seeing a dietcian tommorow who is starting me on the elemental diet, has anyone else had any experience of this? would be great to share experiences as sometimes it can feel quite lonely living with this disease...feel free to ask me any questions x

Hi, Welcome Crohnie25, This site certainly helps with the 'alone' feeling, some really nice people on here to compare 'war stories' with!! I'm seeing a dietician Tuesday, so i'll let you know if they recommend any specific diets etc.
