It's been some time again since I've been on this site.....although I am currently in remission and can eat normal foods again; which is great, I do understand about all the pain/bones muscle etc and thought that was part of crohns IBS etc...but after a long time suffering whilst in remission find I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and told that the previous diagnosis crohns was Ielium and Ibs problem.

I have totally lost the plot with everything, don't know what to think and trying to take on board this new diagnosis........anyone else out there the same?

Hi Peanut,Just been reading up about your condition.Yes i can now see how similar the
joint pain is with your condition and mine.I have Arthralgia which is joint pain caused by
Crohns, and you have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, very similar, and just as painful.
Although the pain is the same, did they tell you how long it would last?or is it with you
for life?what was your age again?
Iam on drugs for Crohns and antisuppresants for the jointpain, which makes my immune
system low,and i can catch infections easily.
So i bet your glad you know what it is,but not happy with the results.
Keep smiling......David.

Hi davie7

Thankyou for your reply regarding Fibromyalgia.......I am still getting used to this diagnosis and it has only been advised verbaly by doc, and rheumatoligist did do tests so need to speak again to see if this is absolute?
I am hoping that this is just not just guess work? it's not good for the patient when its not confirmed properly.
I need to get a new job and just don't know that I can do the same kind of work I used to do, so hopefully a desk job, no lifting etc.
According to the kids I am Old....but middle age isn't Old is it? I only feel ancient when I can't walk fast or in terrible pain, so make up for it when I feel well. Sure with your illness too with bone pain, you just learn to get on with it.........So smiling is a good way I find and trying to brush away negative thoughts.
I think what knocked me for six....was now in remission; the shock of being told that this is another illness that I have!! Don't you just want to do all the right things to heal yourself and somehow get better?
