Hi and welcome.

I am mum to Ben, an 11year old boy with crohn's, diagnosed 2 years ago. We are at a point where his only options are either to start infliximab infusions or formation of an ileostomy. We had thought that this would be temporary, but when we spoke to our consultant last week, he informed us that because it's crohns', the stoma would be permanent. He said that if it was UC, then it would be reversible. I don't know if this is always the case for definite, but it is for us at the moment. We are going to try infliximab.

Hope you are currently well, take care,

Mary
