Dear All,

One of my biggest embarassments is the loo, especially if I have friends round, and even with family.

I have discovered Yankee candles, which burn for hours and have successfully overpowered me, I'm sure you know what I mean.

Does anyone have any suggestions for using other people's loos, I've read somewhere that striking a match will dispense with the smell, but I can't believe one match could be that mighty.  (my husband thinks it could be very dangerous, although I'm sure I don't know what he means!)

I would love to hear of any successes, or even failures......lol

Best wishes to you all

Julie

Hi Julie,

I can tell you that no one match is not that powerful, when I had flare ups in the past. It makes some difference but if doesn't get rid of the smell altogether, and no I didn't blow myself up cos I'm still here to tell you the tale. One thing that I used to use at home was some incense, it does quite a good job. Find one that you like the smell of and you can light it for a short time and that does the job not too bad.

Hope this helps

Andrew

I just tend to tell my friends to avoid the toilet for a while unless they have breathing apparatus. Pretty much everyone knows I have Crohn's  and it's probably easier for a male anyway. I really can't see myself carrying around scented candles just in case

Keep any ideas coming as we've just found out the candles have left the walls with a lovely coating of soot!  I'm going to try out the incense idea, as I have a cone burner.
