Hi Easnic.
Your son will need a lot of support and understanding to cope with  this, but you yourself will find it difficult too because your son will not want to let you know about the bad bits ,I.E.   getting caught for the toilet, reluctance to go anywhere where he does not know where the toilets are, and other things. you need to try to understand how he feels and that is where this forum helps, don`t be afraid to ask anything. My husband has supported me for the last 20 odd years but it took him a wee while to cope with it.
Hope this gives you some idea of what is ahead.
good luck!!!!

Hi there, my son Callum is 13 now but was diagnosed with Crohns a week after his 12th birthday last year. How old is your son?

We've tried Modulen, Budesonide, Prednisolone, and now Azathiaprine (immunosuppressant) and the Aza seems to be the one doing the trick, been in remission for a month now.

We've been to hell and back, so if you want to know anything, just ask.

Best wishes,

Lynn
