I have looked around the forum and cannot find any mention of this. I sweat to buggery (excuse my coarseness )every night even in a cool room and get very hot even during the day. My wife tells me I ooze. I am very clean in my habits and control my body temperature when awake but at night its astonishing how much I perspire. I wondered if anyone else had experience of this or am I just a sweaty guy?

I wouldn't mind knowing (see poll) if others suffer this as it is exhausting and unpleasant.

Regards

Ian

Blimey. I have the same problems, maybe not so often but i quite often wake up in the middle of the night in loads of pain and sweating like crazy and it quite often coincides with vomiting later on.

Quite often i feel like i have a fever.

Keep smiling

Hi Ian, it cold be medication.  Are you on Prednisolone ?  That can cause night sweats, either that or you are menopausal !

Hi Guys, I sweat alot at night too regardless of wether I am on medication or not. My Husband hates it because even when it is minus five outside I have to have the window open because I am so hot. I don't have a problem during the day. All tests have come back ok so I don't know what it is either.

Hi guys

its not medication just a plague on my house so to speak. I often wake up drenched which is not pleasant at all. If I could put it down to alcohol or some other enjoyment then at least it would be a fair cop but I have no idea why?

Regards

I had a short spell of sweating during the night, and had forgotten all about it until I read this post, now I wonder if it was to do with the drugs I was taking at the time!

Hi all.Yes its all part of medication sideffects iam afraid, these drugs have to find
away out of your body, either through the digestive system or sweat it out
through the sweat glands, a bit like garlic, lol.

Also not mentioned a lot on here,is swollen or runny eyes, which i get a lot
of,watery, itchy, redness, tired, are all part of the drugs making their way out.

Night sweats are the worst, especially like me you have panic attacks in the dark
aching limbs, numbness, pins and needles of fingers, toes.

not much going for us guys im afraid, lol

regards David

I just sweat. Medication or no medication. It's not nice and it happens during the day as well as the nights. I have the strongest deoderant possible and it keeps it just at bay during the day thank the Lord, else I would be very sweaty in deed. It's not nice at night either, especially a single young lady wanting company. Try explaining that one?! Buut what can you do? Just one of lifes quirks I suppose!!

I sweat prefusely during the night, my fiance says i'm like a radiator, but she likes it because she feels the cold. I'm only on Pentesa Granules, but I sweat regardless of room temperture and have to wash my pillows on a regular basis as they start to smell.

Hi Ian,

I have been daignosed with Crohn's disease for approx 15yrs.
I suffer from night sweats all the time.
At first I thought it was menopause, but I now I am way past that, had full menopause at about age 48-49, now 53 yrs of age.
Night sweats are recognised as a part/symptom of Crohn's Disease.

They are so bad, that I often have to change my clothing twice during the nite.
We are in winter now in Australia. I wear a singlet top and cotton shorts to bed, have to throw off the duvet, while my husband has electric blanket, duvet and blanket on top.
Really hate it, feel really smelly and dirty, change the bedlinen every couple of days.
Sorry, this is no help to you.
Regards, Robyne (Ozzie, Ozzie, Ozzie)

I am so glad to have found this.  I came online to see if having hot sweats all the time was anything to do with Crohn's, or if I was having a very early menopause!!  I need to sleep in a very cold bedroom as I become a furnace whenever I fall asleep.  4.5 tog duvet in the height of winter!  And I have major hot flushes a couple of times a day as well.  Playing havoc with my hair!!!!!  I've not long started on Pentasa, so am hoping this will improve as I get better?????  Was happening way before I started taking medication.
