Hi there, wondering does anyone experience what I can only describe as ulcer like pain, I have small bowel crohns and often get a pulling, griping, hunger like acidic pain lower right side.(similar to what I've heard people describe stomach ulcer pain) It's vile, makes me hot, sweaty, sickly and not the sort of thing any pain meds help. Feels like I want to poor Gaviscon into my small bowel! Anyone with me or is this mine alone? Many thanks

Hi Chihuahua,
I've got Crohn's in my small bowel too. I get an ulcer type pain that sits just under my ribs but it's more to the left. I had a gastroscopy and there was nothing in  the stomach or duodenum. I found that anything acidic - like wine - or fibre or coffee made it worse. It lasts a few hours and before I was on the Pred it was on and off all the time. I took codeine 30mgs for it which helped a bit.
Hope your pain settles soon,
Gail

Thank you very much, it's good to know... the pred doesn't seem to be helping me though, been on 40mg for ages, time for a rethink about drugs because I'm not really getting any better. Bless you all and I hope you are doing well  xxxxxxx

Might be worth trying an antacid. I get these symptoms rarely but do find that Gaviscon sometimes helps.

I have the same problem as i am typing my stomach is doing that horrible pulling, growling and cramping feelings.  Sometimes its accompied with pain sometimes its more unconfortable than painful.  I have been diagnosed with small bowel crohns and have also been told i have narrowing.  Do you have narrowing?  It is horrible and also makes me feel sicky and need to go toilet sometimes with the urge to go but nothing happens do you experience that?  xx
