Anyone out there suffer from pain on the left hand side, very low in pelvis?  Everything I have read so far seems to indicate Crohns pain is on the right.  I get a sudden, severe pain which usually only lasts for about 10 - 15 seconds but it is so bad it takes my breath away and I can't move.  this may only happen once a day or sometimes more.  Of course I get the usual mid stomach cramps also but I know what that is.  I have mentioned it to my consultant but he dosen't seem concerned.  Is this the Crohns or is something else going on ?  I have just had MRI to check for narrowing (I recently had an obstruction) maybe it is refered pain.   Anyone help ?

Hi Linney,
I get pain very low down on the left. In fact my last flare started like that. Sometime it's just a niggle and sometimes it's an intense pain that lasts for three days! My tests don't show any narrowings or anything in the colon either. They found ovarian cysts in a scan but the gynae doesn't think they are to blame, although he offered to remove them if it persists. I feel like it is my bowel though and it's much better when I'm on the steroids so I think it must be inflammation. From looking at other posts it seems that Crohn's can cause all sorts of weird pain!

Hi i have crohns disease of small bowel. As well as my usual stomach pains all over the stomach area.  Sometimes its hard to pin point the actual location, i also experience terrible pains in lower pelvic area, i don't actually know if its linked to crohns i also just assumed it was.  It kind of feels like period pains but more intense.

Sorry can't be much help.

xx
