Hi everyone my daughter is about to under go an operation to remove 30 cm diseased bowel.  My worry is that they are also going to have to remove the ilea cecal valve.  Has anyone had this done and how has it affected your life afterwards.

This valve is between the small and large bowel.  This valve is like a doughnut and it controls the flow of food and liquids.  Does anyone have any information about this?
