Ok, so I'm guessing this is related... not too sure but I'm sure many of you have taken antibiotics at one point so you could possibly help me??
Basically in so many words, I have a painful rawness on my vagina and just above my anus...
Last week I started a course of antibiotics for tonsillitis and a urine infection, they didn't work so I tried another, but I thought seeing as it would mess with my contraception pill, I would have my break, put on my sanitery towel and thought nothing of it until the next day where I had a bit of a pain, so I looked and it was red raw with like peeling skin, towards the back. Thought it was the pad, a few days later I had a pain whilst BM and I have a bit of red raw skin above my bottom. I'm going to make a DR appointment asap but it's usually a wait so was wondering anyone got any ideas?? All other symptoms (tonsillitis and uti) are gone, just the rawness, and a few pimples?? I haven't had sex recently (over a month) so anybody got a clue??? Could it be a yeast infection/thrush or I have seen some people have Lichen Sclerosis, which is an auto immune disease.. could be connected?? I really have no clue as I have never had a problem like this ever, I am usually fresh as a daisy in all apartments down there... Sorry about the essay but a bit concerned. It's a bit itchy, no discharge, just mainly sore and feels burnt. Thank you for your time and sorry about the details!

Hi,
It sounds like thrush, which is very very common after taking antibiotics.
I would just go and buy some canestan products and give them a go it wont do any harm meantime.

Hi -  did have something similar and it was caused by different towels - the always brand have changed make up and theres something in there that really irritated in the exactly same way. I was given cetirizine as an antihistime and a really strong tablet prescription only for thrush that basically was a top to bottom flush anything out tablet - it did work. I can find out its name if it helps?

Lichen Sclerosis causes rawness and also itches like crazy - had it for years.

I have had similar problems with pant liners, I have had to change brands a couple of times.

I'm currently using Carefree Fresh, they're also scented and fortunately I haven't reacted yet.  I do get a bit of thrush every so often so it hides the smell!
