So after coming off humira for nearly 5 wks it was confirmed that my bloods show no signs of athritis so it is the drug making my joints sore. However the inflammation level was up so looks like i went back on it at the right time.So anyone feeling like their joints are sore whilst on humira chances are it's just another wonderful side effect.Looks like just getting on with it is all i can do.x

Sorry, if that's the case... my doc is thinking of putting me on Humira.... well, the Japanese equivalent.  That doesn't make me apprehensive at all... :S

Hi Tracey, sorry to hear you are having a hard time with Humira.  I had the same problems as you when I was on Humira.  Now the doctors are saying I will have to go back on it once the azathioprine toxicity goes down, I am not looking forward to that.

I know I'm dragging up a somewhat old post here but I was going to post about my experience with Humira so far and since there is already a post here so I thought I'd use it.

I was apprehensive about the whole idea of having to stick a needle in myself (this despite the fact I'm 47 years old and have several tattoos). The nurse who came round was ridiculously reassuring as if my worries were nothing to what she normally has to deal with. She showed me how everything worked, sat with me while I did it and waited around for a while afterwards to make sure I wasn't allergic to it. The actual injection was something of a letdown, I didn't even feel the needle going in (I stuck it in my tummy and I do have rather a lot of that). There was a small sting when the drug injected itself but less than when you get a blood test done. Eventually I almost had to chase the nurse out, she was so keen to check I was OK. I've now done my second one and feel like an old hand at this already.

Regarding efficacy, I've no idea yet but I don't seem to have any side effects so far. May be famous last words...

Nigel
